Hear from Belinda Petroskey, Transit Planner with the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission as she discusses upcoming advancements in public transportation within Northwest Indiana.

NIRPC is responsible for coordinating the metropolitan area transportation planning process for the region. NIRPC welcomes and encourages public participation in the planning activities of the agency. Public participation helps NIRPC realize its goals objectives for engaging the public as active participants in the agency's planning activities.

On this segment of the "Green Radio Network", we go live with Alexandra at the Green Fleet Educational Workshop on Biobased and Soy products that can be used to replace the more harmful and chemically induced products.

Indiana needs affordable, reliable energy for its business to remain economically competitive and for Hoosier families to grow and thrive. OED coordinates state energy policy with executive branch agencies, house energy-related programs, and works to support a strong, comprehensive, coordinated energy plan for Indiana. The office also administered grant programs funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. These grants promote the use of alternative power and fuels, energy efficiency and public education on energy issues in Indiana.

Hear from Ken Parrent, Director of Biofuels with the IN Corn & Soybean Alliance as he discusses the future of biofuels in Indiana and the benefits it can have to help improve air quality.
In 2015 The Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) along with the Clean Cities Organizations and the Department of Agriculture applied for a grant through from USDA Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership. IN Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) provided the matching funds necessary to obtain the grant. We were able to secure an $895,000 grant from the USDA.
Hear from Leslie Rusk, Marketing & Special Events Director with Fair Oaks Farms as she discusses upcoming summer events at the farm, along with ways they are reducing their environmental footprint and becoming even more energy efficient!
Fair Oaks Farms brings Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to a whole new light.  Our entire facility runs on cow & pig manure.  We transform our farms' waste into energy by way of our anaerobic digesters, we reduce our dependency upon natural gas and electricity during the milk and manufacturing process.

Each year, South Shore Clean Cities gathers to celebrate the efforts and many successes of its members and partners. These organizations are recognized for efforts in reducing their dependence on petroleum-based fuels, implementing alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, and helping to improve Northern Indiana's air quality.
